We’re swapping autumn depression for a creative session: how we prepare for the winter event season
Three days in Palūšė, the Basque collective transformation method, and a new approach to the team. We’re sharing our experience of how self-organization transforms an organization from within.
Swap autumn depression for a creative session
Just a week ago, the summer season ended. For us, it lasted longer. We welcomed autumn still living in the rhythm of summer: fields, forests, festival scripts, open-air events. And only when we closed the last summer projects did we realize — it’s already autumn!
Which means: fewer trips, more time together. Preparation for the winter sprint begins. We have a month and a half of “calm” — time to prepare for the Christmas events that will start on December 2 and continue until mid-February.
When the thermometer shows +4 °C, the most important thing is to keep the warmth in the office. Both physically and emotionally. Our pace hasn’t slowed down, it has simply changed: less sun, but more light inside. It’s easy to keep the team together when no one wants to go outside anymore (unless it’s to the sauna).
As we joke within the team — we’re replacing autumn depression with creative sessions. And lately, there’s been no shortage of those, so there’s simply no time to feel down.
Maybe if things feel gloomy for you too, it’s worth exercising your creative muscles? Maybe it’s organizing your winter event, so summer fun doesn’t feel so far away? :)
But seriously — how do you keep your team’s temperature up when it’s +4 °C outside and the gloom is not only outdoors, but also in your inbox?
