6 Things That Can Make or Break Your Event
Event management requires attention to every detail. Discover six essential safety tips to help you deliver a smooth, successful and safe event.
Sometimes, months of planning can be ruined by... a bee.
It sounds absurd—until one of your guests discovers they are allergic to insect stings.
In event management, most of our time is dedicated to the big things: the concept, logistics, technical production, supplier coordination, countless meetings and hundreds of details.
Yet even the most carefully planned event can be affected by seemingly small things that people often remember just a little too late.
As the busy summer event season begins, here is a short checklist that might help save your next event—or even your next outdoor gathering.
Assess your venue and identify the nearest safe shelter. Today, emergency preparedness is just as important as electricity or logistics in event planning.
Make sure there is enough drinking water, shade and sun protection available. Heat never follows the event schedule.
Keep disposable rain ponchos and covered areas ready. Weather apps are sometimes far more optimistic than reality.
Don't forget antihistamines in your first aid kit. That bee from the beginning of this story might decide to attend your event too.
If your event takes place near water, arrange for lifeguards and proper rescue equipment. They are the only people we sincerely hope will have nothing to do that day.
Bring insect repellent. Your guests should be the people—not the mosquitoes.
A successful event is not only about what people remember.
It is also about everything they never notice because the organisers thought about it in advance.
Have a wonderful—and above all, safe—summer event season!
