Why Does a Leadership Programme Sometimes Need a Good Speedboat?

Executive event management goes beyond training. Discover how Time2 creates leadership experiences that strengthen connections, trust and engagement.

They changed the pace, relieved tension, took people out of their usual work mode and created an environment where they could relax and briefly forget the demands of everyday life.

Because it is precisely in this state of mind that people become more receptive to new information, more open to meeting others, having meaningful conversations and building genuine connections.

And this is the part of our work that rarely appears on an event agenda.

Event organisers do not simply book activities A, B and C.

We think not only about what will happen, but also about how people will feel at every stage of the programme – when they need more energy, when they need calm, when it is worth surprising them and when it is better to simply give them space.

Most importantly, we consider the state of mind we want them to be in when they enter the next conversation, training session or dinner.

In other words, we design not only the programme, but also the way people experience it.

A training methodology can be purchased, prepared and perfected. But the environment and state of mind in which people truly open up to new information and to one another must be created.

Sometimes that takes a great facilitator.

Sometimes a great speedboat.

And sometimes, a great event organiser.

Sometimes, a leadership programme needs a speedboat. And no, this is not a new management methodology.

This time, we organised probably the smallest event in our history – at least in terms of participants. Just seven people.

However, those seven were senior executives from Lithuania, Europe and the US, so it quickly became clear that a "small event" certainly does not mean a "simple event".

The goal was to develop leadership skills, strengthen connections and discover Lithuania. But with programmes like these, it is not enough to think about what participants will hear. Just as important is the state of mind they will be in when they hear it.

That is why, between the more serious parts of the programme, we went speedboating in Trakai, explored beautiful forests on quad bikes, experienced a traditional Lithuanian sauna ceremony and took eating very seriously. Very, very seriously.

But none of these activities were included just for the sake of having fun.
